Isaiah 44:18 New English Translation (NET Bible)

18 They do not comprehend or understand,
for their eyes are blind and cannot see;
their minds do not discern.

Constant battle goes unnoticed by the folks all around

They are smiling and fast-moving like nothing is going on.

Don’t they care they must know for it’s always on my mind

Is the world so isolated from the folks in my realm?

Often we feel like others understand the turmoil in our hearts

as in many a for-instance we think they know about our falls.

If I know, they must know ... is my daily attitude

not realizing I am protected and that God can veil it all.

In defense with a chip on my shoulder, I built a wall around my heart.

A mote is there just in case someone infringes on my call.

All alone I man the gate deaf to all cries from the outside.

I am the smarter guard and spot my preciousness after all.
