Peter 2:24       New English Translation

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

The Lord for the “body” and the “body” for the Lord

United in Christ through faith, we are crucified with Him

Our sins were nailed to the Cross and so we’re cleansed within

And “Death where is your sting?” became a Glorious thought

As we are resurrected with Jesus and ascended to Heaven in Him

The Holy Spirit now dwells within, that’s why the Lord is for the body

Not only spirit and soul matters but so does the entire man

He delivers what He promised and He stated with assurance

He who starts a good work in you will finish it to the end

1 Corinthians 6:14      New English Translation

14 Now God indeed raised the Lord and he will raise us by his power.

A foretaste of the resurrection that is what we have now

Our union with Christ, in God’s eyes, has now a great effect

Our will, mind, and emotions are intertwined with Him

The One who gave His Life for us is molding us into perfect

Our spirit united with Christ here complete in a union

He takes my infirmities and moves them out of the way

My physiological defects and sickness or weakness

Christ takes it all on Himself and that is day by day

Christ is for the body where we draw comfort, strength, and life

From His person, He directs our union deeply within

By faith, we trust He will quench our thirst and longings

He is the Life's fountain where righteousness is firm
