The Common Atlus

Sometimes life is hard.

The thrilling twists and turns we face,

are often more than one can take.

Like Atlus and the earth,

we hold our burdens on our back and pray for balance.

A turn one way, or a twist another,

and our world goes tumbling,

bouncing like some perverted ball,

all child-like wonderment erased and replaced,

with anguish.

Still we take hold, and heave our earth

back onto our shoulders,

stubbornly supporting it,

and hoping for relief.
