Comedy is Hard, Death is Easy

There is a single common saying, and a lie it is betraying:
“Comedy is Easy, Death is Hard”. That saying stretches the truth a whole yard.
When you stand on a stage with a rubber chicken, I guarantee the audience will sicken.
Yet, if you jump off a cliff, you will, of course, become a stiff.
For, you see, Comedy is Hard, but Death is Easy.
Comedy is Hard, Death is Easy,
It’s true, don’t get nauseous, and don’t get queasy.
When red noses do not work, and enthusiasm they shirk
You can suffocate until you get wheezy.
You can’t deny comedy is grinding, but where laughter stops, death will still be binding.
Even if there is no applause, your heart can still pause, and oblivion will be what you’re finding.
Comedy is Hard, Death is simple,
Much like shooting geese or popping a pimple.
If you cannot get a snigger, you could always pull the trigger, and if you miss, I suggest you wear a wimple.
Comedy is Hard, Death is Easy,
The transition is actually quite breezy.
Just calm down and relax, go out and buy a pickax,
And from then on, it’s as fun as Parcheesi.
Death is Easy, Comedy’s a Labor
More painful than the optimistic neighbor.
When you cannot get laughter, you can still hang from a rafter,
Or even behead yourself with a saber.
So just let down your guard, don’t be uneasy
For Comedy is Hard, oh yes, Comedy is Hard,
Yes, Comedy is Hard, but Death is Easy.
