Colors On Our Cheeks

I knew you would understand,

However, we were truly scared.

We heard stories of what they would do,

See it all over the news...so why wouldn't we be scared?

I'm the eldest, so she looked up to me,

But, truthfully I was really scared.

To say you liked both, to say you were curious,

Now how to say that without being scared?

Only way we knew how, I suppose.

With our indenity painted on our cheeks.

Rainbow color or just blue, purple, and pink,

That moment we weren't so scared...it would seem.

You understood, let us speak our mind,

As we tried not to let tears run down our cheeks.

Now, that became a scary,

Cause those were the meanings of our love, you see.
