We were brought into this world,
And we were given the gift of sight.
Not just the ability to see,
But the ability to experience;
To experience each other on a level much deeper level.
Truly, we are able to know one another beyond our face,
And this bond connects us all, creating a great unity.
I would not say that we are all equal,
This is something one simply cannot measure.
But one of us is not superior to the other
As the earth holds a place for us all.
I should say that we are all colored,
But I speak of the colors beneath us.
Some of our colors are more vibrant than others,
And this creates a sense of individuality.
But I maintain that this only compliments our whole.
As when one of us is missing a piece, another can help fill it.
And I know that I speak the truth,
As I've seen evidence of it throughout history.
National history, my own history, I see people grow.
I see people connect. I see people love.
And so, I am proud.
