Color

Color. Skin. Diversity.
People, look around, there’s a world full of these
But color of skin is all that we see
We may not be captive, but we aren’t free
Harmless jokes, a silent stare
The prejudice we fight against is still there
Don’t judge the outside, look within
Please look past the color of my skin
What was once a bloody violent war
Is now a silent struggle for us all
You don’t even know, but you’re lending a hand
When you check for your wallet, move where you stand.
The appeal is an old one, but it still applies
Wait to judge until you’ve see the inside
