College Dream

Sat, 09/21/2013 - 12:38 -- LidyaEM

Ah, College, sometimes I feel like you are right at hand, yet so far away

I long to walk down your corridors

Feel the atmosphere of accomplishment and endeavors

Be the servant to your will

The prey of your studies

To be proud of being in the warmth of your body

To wake up knowing that I'm privelaged to to be apart of you

Oh, my dear college

I feel like my dreams of you are out of my reach

My hand extends towards the feel of you

My lips murmur your name

My heart beats with anxiety

My eyes can only imagine what

My memories can only hope to gain

My sweet, distant college

How can I even pay for all of what you give me

How can I, the mere spec of your being

Be accepted into your life

My knowledge is barely a fraction of what you are

My value feels even less

I wish to be better, to be apart of the nest of you

Oh, painful college

Your expectations beat me

Your acceptance feels slim

Your value more great to me than anything I can repay

My lovely college

I can only hope to be one with you

I can only work to be accepted by you

I can only attempt to pay for your gold

With the dirt in my palms

By the sweat of my brow

My distant college

Right now you are only but a dream
