College and the Days to Come

Mon, 07/10/2017 - 19:10 -- FSBell

School, college

What really is it?

Twelve long years and more to come

It seems just like a trail of sand never ending

But I guess we can't think if it that way

Or so, if we did, I guess we would be insane

Just like adults who cringe about waking up in the morning for work again

Are we becoming them?

Will we become them?

When the morning breaks and the lights pierce through

Are you rejoicing to the sound of the alarm clock every single day?

The agitated tossing and turns, hits and misses to the alarm clock

Is that not you

Oh, and I can't forget the closing of the eyes for a brief few minutes

Only to really get up for the day ahead

Or just even the same-like days

Cycles

There installed in us alright

School, college

What is it?

Some would say its where you go to become something

Others would say its where you find yourself

While a few would argue its where you learn how to adapt to society

I guess it depends on who you ask

All I know is for me college is where the beginning starts

For your life that is...

Or at least that's what they say

No one really knows because we are not seers of the future

We can only guess what we are going to be

For now, I'm guessing that I'm going somewhere

Today to school and in the future to a better self

Truthfully that's all I can say

So, with that in mind, I guess I'm ready!
