A movement struck our country not too long ago,
Racism at its highest but some hope for low,
Everyday it was always black versus white,
We just want equality it is our Civil Right.
Name-calling, banned from places, they saw this everyday,
Racism should stop so our children can coexist and play.
Someone had to take charge, his name was Mr. King,
Civil Rights Act passed and who knew what the future would bring.

The Civil Rights Movement inspried me to write this poem. I hope it's good enough to win the scholarship.
