{Clouds in the Park}

Wed, 01/28/2015 - 08:46 -- JJAM

I am

Walking effortlessly

Through the clouds in the sky

That ocean of blue

Hopping from cloud to cloud

Tickled

By the flower petals

Lifted to meet me in the sky

I am

Carried by the light

The summer breeze

Effortlessly lifted

But heavily grasped

By the unfallen rain

I am the sigh the children breathe

As they lay on the grass in the park

Watching the clouds go by

I am

The silent smile

That dances on a parent’s lips

As they listen to their child

Read

Them their favorite book,

Stumbling,

But reading nonetheless

I am

The love

Never spoken

But felt

And I am

The unshed tears

Of a love

That should have been spoken

Because it never knew

What was felt

I am the sigh

Of the children laying on the grass

At the park

Watching the clouds go by

I am

The water brimmed eyes

Of the mother

Taking her child to college

The guilt stabbed heart

Of the daughter

Because she knows

She’s leaving her mother home alone

But,

I am

Love

The hope for a greater good

The joy and happiness

Of a successful child

I am

Hellos

Goodbyes

The please stays

And the

Please go aways

I am

The I’m leaving you

The he’s gone

The she’ll get better

And the

I can finally breathe

I am hope

I am

The happy

And the sad

That comes with it

I am

The sighs

Of the children

Laying on the grass

Hoping for the clouds to go by
