Climbing a mountain in search for a valley ...

Psalm 1:2-3

Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the Lord’s commands;
he meditates on His commands day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by flowing streams;
it yields its fruit at the proper time,
and its leaves never fall off.
He succeeds in everything he attempts.

Meeting in the valley

Searching for the Lord ... we will climb any mountain

We’ll try everything we can ... to get up on high

An “A” for effort ... but failing to find the fountain

which resides on lower ground ... freely and bright

How to know oneself through all the confusion

that hangs around ... our ability to think.

Like an outer garment it protects illusions

to seldom then discover the so-called missing link.

In search of calm waters and hunger for smooth sailing

Leaning on the experience ... that we never had

as the clouds gather ... on the picture we’re painting

to fake out our lives to appear ... mostly fairly sad.

Why should we search for others ... if we can’t find ourselves?

Why should we invest time there ... that surely is not ours?

Is it not probable that ... we never get to twelve

in our clocklike motion ... counting backwards every hour?
