Cleansed by

Hebrews 10:22                       New English Translation

22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

My heart is sprinkled clean. Is this all of my longing?

Of my desires I mean, which are easily encircling self

My flesh surely keeps the fire always fed and burning

Through self-justification ignoring "The Life-Giving Well"

“A sincere heart”, what a call! No guile found in Christ by this one

I’m so glad it did not state “good”, for that would blow me away

“Just as I am without one plea”, now suddenly has new meaning

It brings the “I am”, that is in Jesus, assurance for an Eternal day
