Clark

You were my first love.
The one I held most.
followed me like a puppy,
To Snatch all the worms I dug up.
There was the time I caught a goldfish,
you ate it in an instant.
I couldn't be mad.
The times you went over to the neighbours,
you'd come back for mealworms.
The many times I almost lost you.
I'd always show you to anyone,
You were my perfect hen.
You were gentle and kind,
As my cousins ruffled you.
I didnt need to try to please you,
You'd follow me like a tail.
I thought you were male,
Then you laid the first egg.
The shock that superman,
Was a woman.
That shock when you died.
I wish you didnt go, so young.
I really miss you Clark.
You're not at the door anymore.
You dont pop In for mealworms.
I see your pot.
I wish you were here,
Not under that earth.
I miss you Clark.
