Shall I compare you to a city’s spark?
You are more beautiful and more lively:
Noisy traffic may even reach the park,
And alley ways appear all so eerie:
Sometimes too hidden nature does reside,
And often overwhelming buildings rise;
And everything deemed pretty does not bide,
By fate or mankind’s deliberate tries;
But your enduring spark will not perish
Nor will you lose what makes you fine and fair;
Nor will age strip the beauty you cherish,
‘Cause through my eternal words you shall bear:
As long as the city lights shine and daze,
This poem and you shall last endless days.
