City Followers

The dark city follows us folks,

The shadows, the pain they invoke,

Step after step, dusk covered skys,

Conceal the light which we coped in,

Dreams become dim ambitiousness.

The dark city follows us folks,

Harrowing alleys: viciousness,

No remorse from the concrete strokes.

Light beams against the rush-hour pile,

Hope returns for a time worthwhile;

The dark city follows us folks,

Bright minds overcrowded by slopes,

Return home beat for a repeat,

Inspiration comes with no scopes,

Tomorrow comes fast, make a treat:

The dark city follows us folks.
