Christmas Tree

You were taken from your own home

To get us through this holiday.

I know that must be bothersome,

But accept you are here to stay.

Suffocated in lights of white,

And weighted down with memories.

You became a symbol so bright

It gave us hope of remedies.

Though we want to keep you with us,

Eventually you must depart.

But we love you, tree of Christmas,

For speaking to our broken hearts.
