Child's Play

Sick and twisted

we're all demented

but before you get to

opening that trapdoor you call a mouth

tell me something,

a little semanding,

but why can't we all

just sit around and enjoy ourselves?

I mean

we're all human,

we're all children

trapped in bodies

that won't stop growin.

Next thing you know

we're lying in coffins

six-feet under

because our lives were wasted

our minds consumed

by excess drama

we all endulged.

Let's give ourselves a break

go back to being kids again

let's play hide and seek

or tag

maybe even a little duck-duck-goose

if we have sometime just to forget

all the excess nonsense

we stir for ourselves to complain about

can we go back

to being kids

and just play?
