Changing of the Seasons

Location

She told me that she'd be ok,

she said, "It's just a passing phase."

I watched her smile fade away,

as lies became her only face.

The secrets she kept,

kept her broken inside,

until all of her hate made her tired and shy.

She told me that she'd be ok,

she said, "it's just a passing phase.

But summer turned to fall,

and fell into winter.

Her heart never sprung,

never bloomed,

never grew.

As spring pushes in,

love will shine through.

All the lies,

all the hate,

all the secrets will break

and she'll find that His love never made a mistake.
