Catch-22

I grew up with ignorant bliss
Surrounded by such selfishness
I was foolish and happy, but for so long

I still remember turning thirteen
Discovering life in different means
All the things I believed now were wrong

Cause my Mama's cashing unemployment checks
To buy into more bad habits
And my Daddy just sits there and lets her

While my brother stays locked in his room
Here I am, grown up too soon
Now I'm bitter, but I guess I'm getting wiser

You can call me out
Call me a little girl
But I promise, I'm still leaving this town
Beg me, beg me
Call me "Sweetie, baby"
But you will never keep me around
This catch-22 town
