Candy Store

Like a child in a a candy store

eying the ten dollar lollipop

I am amazed by her glory

yet sullen that there is not enough in my pocket.

Like a teen in a candy store

acting too cool for sweets

I deny my own self interest

I pop my collar and try to stay away from temptation for a little while

Like a young man in a candy store

choosing which chocolate to aid his woman's soon-to-be flowers

I try to please my way into her heart

I suprise her so that she doesn't forget that i'm interesting too

Like a homeless man outside of a candy store

thrown out because he was bad for business

I reminisce on the good times before

I'd give anything to be with her again

Like the old man in the bar across from the candy store

taking a solomn swig of life

I have to get over it

I just don't know how
