That Candle Stick

Burn bright does the flame upon this candle stick

The darker the room becomes the brighter it burns

So dynamic a flame, yet so stagnant its home

To remove the ignorance, the fear bestowed upon the wax

Imagine the illumination of the room if the candle knew it could move

Yet the wax remains stagnant

Afraid the flame will blow

Afraid moving light to another corner will darken another

Pure light does not move, it spreads

Fire burns no matter how small its host but the true beauty is the overflow

When it can no longer be tamed

Transforming every host it latches onto

Burning brighter, burning higher, burning longer

Diminishing the wax as it grows until there is no longer a candle

Now it’s just a room on fire
