Can You Soothe A Black Hole

Can you soothe a black hole if its matter

Is made of hate? Gravitational field

Strong as blood and as painful as laughter.

So consumed with itself it cannot yield.

How much must it take to be satisfied?

Hand it your identity. Your favorite

Movie, and color, and song all defined

By another. You always feel contrite.

If time stands still when a star collapses

Can it be reversed? Or is it trapped by

gravity in a frozen reaction?

Confining everything that passes by.

Get close and your autonomy’s foregone

When you spot one, Pity it and move on
