"I'm too unintelligent to answer that question"

"I'm unqualified to take that commission"

"I'm too drunk on my pride to make a decision

And drowning too deep to restart my engine"  

"The world's so dark because there is no light"

That stops us from living the life we fly though

 

"I'm too untalented to make that team"

"I'm too weak to chase that dream"

"They're too good to be my friend,

I already broke a friendship that I cannot mend"

"The substance I tried has become my brain"

"This disease brings upon me unending pain"

"The blood of my loved ones covers the ground when it rains" 

"There is no reason in life for me to remain"

This is the lie that we all comply to

"Too weak" to say "no" when he clutches your hand

"Too weak" too speak out when tears water the land

"Too weak" to beat "average", that's all you've been named

"Too weak" to console one whose heart is left maimed

This is the lie that we all comply to

Who will take that nail-pierced hand?

Who will give strength to those who "just can't"?

Who will tell the bullies to stop their ways, 

Before sadness and loneliness define their days?

This defeats the lie we all comply to

When there is a reason you stand up for what moves you

 

They lie when they tell you you are one of a million

That life was an accident, as are those not world-known

You have a mind that no one else has

And a soul with a light that is far more precious

We can overcome that lie that we comply to

If we let our old days go and live these ones anew
