Call the Doctor

“Call the doctor,” they said

“It will be fine,” they said

Talking

On the phone

One ring, two rings

Heart racing

I’ve rehearsed what to say

I know it by heart

And then

A voice

She talks

I talk

And then

It’s over

Appointment scheduled

That’s it?

Hey, I did it

I adulted

And I didn’t die

Look at me go
