Cadet Schmo

This ones for Jo Schmo
So let's bow our heads
In respect for Schmo's life
As a finely-trained young man

Schmo had a life with many ups
And many downs to match
His dream his whole life
Was to serve in Iraq

Jo has a loving Mom, Dad
Who rarely saw their brave son
As he proudly fought over seas
For the Red, White, and Blue

Dodging bullets and saving lives
Schmo has a right to be honored
He fought for those who were too small
To keep their rights unalienable

So this ones for Jo
Be merry, don't cry
He did what he felt was right
Until the day that he died

So many of my friends lately have been joining the military I decided I should write this poem. It's really hard to come to terms with. I am so proud of all of them though and I know that their choices bring them joy. I just wish they'd do something safer-like gardening. Be safe guys xoxoxo
