Brown Eyes

Brown.

The color of warmth.

The soul of the earth

Beautifully brown, with

Black lashes.

One white smile

I am gone.

I am lost, I never want

To be found.

My shadow seeks yours

In the moonlight

My heart flies

Where the clouds lie

Waiting,

Hopelessly waiting,

For the sunrise.

The night is my witness

My soul is my guide

What is this madness?

How long must I strive

To win your love, my darling

To have you at my side

Forever, in a kingdom

By the oceans blue tides

Brown eyes,

My dear brown eyes,

I have patience

I have time

Give me but a sign

Of your love,

I will be grateful,

Ever so grateful,

To call you mine.

Only mine.
