Broken bridges

Location

Warri
Ughelli
Nigeria

Once upon a past

We were inseparable
Like light and day
Like two trees
That breeds true
With overflowing gaiety
Sharing a common root.

Oh, it was the finest blend!

Yet, its waterloo came spedily
For the wind came stealthily
And carried away all fantasies
Leaving us bare and famished
Like leaveless tree branches
To brood our broken bridges.
