Breathless

Sometimes love is not breathing.

It's the beats between breaths--a steady drummer's heartbeat

Looking up at you,

As we're standing around, silly,

Pushing away the night to spend more time together,

I know I'm breathless.

Joy fills my lungs instead

Of air

And you, you're smiling

I cannot fathom breathing and

Letting go of the moment

This moment.

You're perfect.

We're standing around; yet

Your pure unfiltered laughter

That laughter without worrying what others hear

I don't want to end this moment, won't let go of this standstill snapshot of our lives.

Don't let the moment go, I won't

Let breath become air.
