I write for myself

a girl who's perceived as 

small, quiet, and has nothing to say.

i write for myself 

because I too have thoughts,

thoughts that stayed unspoken,

waiting their turn

to be shouted to the world.

i write for myself

because they told me to pour my heart out

but to whom they never said,

and so i made the paper and pen

my sanctuary instead.

I write for myself

because I am human

and I need to breathe too.
