United States

Out the window a foggy blanket snuffs the light of a thousand twinkling stars
Raggedy clouds tatter their cotton across the
dark of a thousand miles of sky

Hollow tones in my bones
Desperate cries in my eyes

But then,
I notice

In the distance a melody leads a
choir of a few chirping song-birds
Gentle wind thumbs its fingers through
Percussive leaves of a few grandfather oaks

Nature has composed it's peace
I have found a calming release
