Breaking Down These Walls

Stay out of my life

And I’ll keep from yours;

Running in circles,

I’m done with this chore.

Chore of watching you

Take my life from me;

Chore of letting you

Be where I should be.

Let’s tear down this wall

And fight to the death;

With blow upon blow,

You’re all out of breath.

                        (Pause, now take a breath)

A breath for your memories,

A breath for your thoughts;

Broken and bloody,

In pain and distraught.

Cry I do dare thee

Let it fall like rain,

Every tear filled with

Such lovely distain.

Distain for me and

Distain for it all;

How I stole your wings

And then let you fall.

Falling, falling down

Plummeting to Earth;

In day we found death

And in night, there’s birth.

Birth of a new start,

A birth of the end;

This birth of a change

In which I depend.

Now depart from me

My bittersweet foe;

Your time here is done,

You’ve nothing to show.

Your pity, your strife,

Your grotesque despair;

Disappear from me

Watch, see if I care.
