Boys Will Be Boys

It’s funny

Boys aren’t always bad

Once upon a time they were little boys

And they loved with their whole hearts

They never broke a promise

And would never think to brake someone’s heart

They were loved

Then they grew up and were still loved by their mothers

Who overlook their little boy’s every flaw

And can’t see what he really is

Sweet on the outside

Pure evil on the inside

He now breaks girls

Like they are nothing

He takes their souls and keeps them

With the hearts they willingly give up too

Because they can’t see

What he really is

That he isn’t the same sweet boy he once was

Or maybe they don’t want to

Maybe it is just easier to hold onto the past

No matter how many times he hurts you

No matter how many lies he spits at you

‘You’re so stupid’

‘Do you realize how lucky you are to be with me?’

These things hit you like poison darts

Make you die a little more each time they are said

Until there is truly nothing left

Nothing left of him

Or you

Then finally you see

That he isn’t the same boy

The same eleven year old playing in the sandbox

That he is toxic

And kills everything he touches

Including you

So boys will be boys they say

But why do girls

Let them?
