Bound Love

See I what in holy Bread?

See I what in sacred Wine?

We in Them are fully fed;

Here partake we of Divine.

Child blessed do I hold--

Greater Love I wish was mine!

Let me love You as I'm told;

At Your table let me dine.

How this Flesh loves more than I,

Simple bread It seems to be!

In such Love I wish to die;

Lord, my God, be whole in me!

Love are You and Truth as well;

In Your image we are made;

Therefore we in these things dwell--

Body, we, and Blood the same.

You are greater, O my Love,

Truth, in these essential things!

You are boundless up above;

We are finite, cased in strings!

Now Yourself You trap o Lord;

Now You feel what binds us too:

Bread and Wine by sacred Word

Bind You now to faithful few.

Molecules and particles

Bind You, Lord, like iron chains.

Tell us You in articles--

Does this bidding be humane?
