Born a Dreamer

I was born a dreamer,

this I know.

My parents told me to be practical,

but  I chose the dreamer life.

My dreams are beautiful,

from a wedding dance

to the feel of the ocean sand.

From a lover's kiss

to starting my own band.

My life's painted as a fairy tale,

its majestic elements before me.

From happiness to sorrow,

the colors are all laid out to see.

Whatever befalls,

I just can't be ordinary.

I want to aspire,

I want to dream.

In reality I am a shadow,

one that comes and quickly fades.

But in my mind,

I am the hero, the one that saves the day.

This world that I am stuck in,

it's a fantasy I know.

But I was born a dreamer...

my mind has told me so.
