The Bogeyman

He clings to me

wrapping his long bony talons

around my twitching ankle

 

He climbs my trembling body

scaling five feet six inches to sigh

on my stark ivory face

 

He pries open my tightly shut jaw

invading the moist, warm cavern

 

I plead for the sun to rise, quickly
