boardwalk

the calm silence covers my ears, my eyes taken over by bright lights, i see nothing but faris wheels, and prizes for my delight, i take in the smells, and all the great tastes, some come to me quick, but all i get is salty water, and funnel cake burned to a crisp, i take a step back and finally see, this is a kids palace and dream, cookies and ice cream, dont forget the pizza, no kid will ever want to say see ya, they say seeing is believing and believing is seeing, but parents think their dreaming, they open their eyes and finally feel, the childhood that was never real.
