Blossomed and Bloomed

Blossomed and Bloomed

You were the blood pumping through my veins.

You were the reason I dreamed.

Your beauty is equivalent to that of a lion.

So fierce and strong

Yet gentle and loving

When I see you my heart skips a beat.

When you smile my stomach turns.

The talks we had made my knees buckle.

Your hugs gave me goosebumps.

Your laugh brightened my day.

The more we talked, the closer we became.

Two merging into one.

Soon a friendship budded.

As time passed a flower bloomed.

Its colors unknown to both our eyes.

Unbeknownst to our hearts.

A flower even stronger than the one before

Blossomed in the wake of our hearts.

With deeper hues and darker shades.

Alas, we ignored what most knew

As the blossoming flower of love.

And so the flower bloomed

Over and over in a room of darkness.

Only one could describe

As ignorance

If ignorance is bliss

Then I understand how the flower of our love survived.

When the time draws near

And we must end.

I will always remember the flowers

That bloomed in the shadows of our hearts.
