Blood, Violence and dust

Red as dark as cherries,
As thick as melted chocolate,
flowing in and out of the heart,
it pumps to a beat like no other.

Maddening sickness,
Full of fear and angst,
Througt the dust and dirt of this day,
The violence has come to bay.

We are sisters, brothers, uncles and aunt,
Mothers, daughters, Fathers and sons,
We should not be ripping apart one another,
Just because of our differences,
Hold hands, hug and be there for others,
On this dark and dismal day.
