The Blissful Night

In this world full of noise

we are taught we must try

to scream above the rest

if you are silent

none will know you

but

wouldn't it be tragic

if you scream

yet no one wishes

to hear

scream until your lungs bleed

we have gouged out our own eyes

we would rather see nothing

than see suffering

that might try to make us move

there are those in the world

who are oh so evil we know

not the ones who cause suffering

no

the ones who point it out

we will live in the blissful dark

white noise drowns out the screams

all while wondering

can you hear me?
