Blinded

Out of all the battles

the one between your heart

and your mind seems to be the most agonizing

My heart longs for you

your smile, your charisma

my eyes undress you from the inside out

longing for something more

to feel your skin against mine,

purposely brushing my hand against yours

to send sparks across my finger tips

craving your warm embrace

and forever wanting to melt into your beautiful eyes

my mind puts up walls

higher and higher

tower of babel style

trying to protect what my heart is too dumb to see

It screams for me to remain still,

knowing you’re no good

like the drug your body desires, yet you know it’s poison

but, the ecstasy tells you otherwise

your personality is suffocating in such a way

I could get high on the life you lead

But, I DON’T do drugs.

you’re where my darkest desires can call home

but, I live a life of light

around you I walk with caution

because you’re the beautiful red rose in my garden

And I swear if I get pricked

I may just DIE.
