Wounds wide open.
Scars strait showin.
Defeat amongst the face while the winds keep blowin,
Stuttering through fragments as they absorb our whines like magnets
Standing.
Staring.
Stagnant.
Our emotions enter unbelievable scales
Eyes blood-shot red when our complexions are pale.
It’s hard to make it in a place where you’re expected to fail
Especially when you’re a black female…
Because the world has its way of symbolizing and categorizing those of who they feel fit a certain image
But I think it’s insane because my drive and diligence reflect my brains.
So I strive to make a CHANGE.
My ancestors before me had the mindset all the same.
December 1st, 1955, Rosa Parks completed an act most despised by,
The opposite community,
It’s funny how some black folk built up immunity to the way the way that we were treated
Some lie down while others made oaths to beat it
BLACK WOMEN STAND
Look me in my eyes and grab me by the hand…
I know we all need some guidance to the promise land…
So I say it again…BLACK WOMEN STAND.
