I'm African American nothing else
Don't categorize me as "black" because that's a color
Since before those history books mention
My kind has been tortured
I've been manipulated to allow u to call me a color
When you hear the words green, red or even yellow
You respond with that's a color
So why is it okay for u to call me Black?
We all know black is a color
So don't call me ANYTHING other then my name
My mom named me what she named me
So address me by my name

Call me by my name
Don't kill me sir
Gve me a chance
Give me a chance at life
Give me a chance to survive
Give me a chance at showing u I'm not just a color
I'm a human being,
 I'm a American I bleed the same color u do
When we die im being buried n the same dirt as u
On the real
I'm sick of pissing the world off
Just to get my point across

If you don't know our name call me ma'am and call him sir
 Call us by our names not the names we were given on this universe
I'm sick of being murdered because I'm "black"
I'm sick of being  labeled as a "convict " because I'm "black" Because I'm far from one
Since I'm labeled as " black" the system refuses to applaud me for The good I've done
Don't get me wrong I don't  need your approval
But I'm tired of seeing the negative thoughts about my kind
When will u broadcast the good
I'm not black that's a color

Martin Luther King I applaud him
He was a strong man he was a Colored activist
I refuse to stand for the statue of liberty
Because that song supports slavery  so it won't get support from me
How I truly feel I'm afraid to say
Because when u are labeled as a color your opinion will be the reason u see a early grave
I'm African American nothing less
I'm not black, nor am I Brown
I'm not a color
