Black

Black...

Of all colors, it's the jack of all trades

Black is now a color, a person, or long shiny blade

A blade that cuts deep, showing that young girls despair

Black is a color that distinguishes her hair

"Black is ugly, I hate it" they say

Failing to realize that black is what they call us today

Black is the new orange, dressed in all of the prisons

They say that black is everything that white isn't

There is here, there is now, but there is no forever

So why focus on "us blacks" rather than your endeavors?

We fail to realize that black is a color

So let's see it that way, so that we can all love each other...
