the bird that sings at midnight.

the bird that sings at midnight
keeps me company as i search for a home
looking to the sky
lost in what i do not really know

her sweet sounds do not affect the ones in bed
they may sleep peacefully
as the others cannot rest
they stare at a starry night
and beg for peace in their souls

the bird that sings at midnight
sings softly to those
who are losing their faith and their feeling in their own
only ever once in a while,
does she remind them that they're not alone

the bird that sings at midnight
sings the saddened song
of the ones who will never know
who they are or
what they will become

the bird that sings at midnight
is not alone
she sings to the ones who stay up without faith
and to the ones who are lost in their soul
her soft sad song will lure them back to wherever they may find home
and eventually she will sing
nevermore
