Beyond Me

-To be free is ones desire

To be happy is ones wish

To be sure is ones safety

But yet they sit and reminisce

-I shall not do the same, I'll fight and refuse

Dance to my own rhythm, simply for my own amuse

I was put here for a reason, many I'll soon discover

Still in meantime, I will not hide for cover

-See as they sit and ponder, my forces are only strengthened

I have places to go; people to see, who cares I might be frightened

I strive cause who I am is far less than who I'll become

The goal, the value will help another overcome

-Cause with one word my mouth has power

And with one pen the riotous will one day tower

Word of mouth will spread the message

My work is done when they receive their blessing

-To each their own, everyone has choices

Mine is to restore those that don't have voices

So and as I write, I'll make it meaningful

I wont stop until the world sees the critical

-They called it 'Muckraker', that once was my name

I'll honor it to the grave, theres no sense in shame

One life then two, education by each girl

Three countries then four, I'll mend them to their pearl

-Freedom, happiness, global justice, is what I stand for

The pen is just my weapon, it searches deep within my core

And as the word is spread, I hope to renew precious matters

I write from my soul, I write for what's been shattered
