Better By Noon

Getting up and going out in the morning is hard

when the sun isn’t up yet and

I have to wait out in the cold at the bus stop.

Time passes quickly though,

Because I know I’ll feel better by Noon.

Tiredness is my middle name

and frustration makes my head ache

as I try to solve the problems in front of me.

But whatever I’m going through right now doesn’t matter,

Because I know I’ll feel better by Noon.

The sun will have risen

and the exhaustion will be warmed from my bones.

We will be sitting at our table

and we will be cracking our jokes.

Yes, I know I’ll feel better by Noon.

We will complain about boring classes

and moan about last night’s load of homework.

The conversation will turn deep or it will remain random nonsense.

Either way I will be with all of you.

Yes, I know I’ll feel better by Noon.
