Better

We were not fighting before, but you kept your armor on.

You told me sweet nothings, and nothing is what’s left.

You watched as I fell for you, but never bothered to help me up.

We pretended to smile as we said our farewells.

He notices when something is wrong, and doesn’t let it go

He sees nothing wrong with my mind or things in my heart

He knows all wounds heal with time, and mends them himself

He knows I deserved better, and better is just what I got.

In only my few short years of dating, I have experienced many poor outcomes, and have been personally a victim of verbal and sexual harrassment. I encourage everyone out on the dating scene to never just settle because you are lonely. You have to think about your needs. You are beautiful, strong, and much more important and valuable than all the horrible things many people put up with in terrible and violent relationships. #BecauseILove you should never be an excuse for a devious act.
