Belief in the hope.

I spent a year in a foreign place
Wandering about what truths I would learn or face...

They told me redemption is possible
but the burdens were colossal.

Women sell themselves for dollars
And babies never meet their fathers.

I’ve seen men fall to tears
And young girls raped by their peers.
At the end of my stay
I can absolutely say sex for money is not okay.

The thirst for the empowerment of women
Is stunted by lack of people who are driven

What is needed is a desire to change and find freedom, no matter the cost
Together, we must enable them and believe all is not lost.
