The Being Known As Me

Location

My mind is a sanctuary in and of itself,

Capable of grandiose thoughts, and base desires,

A dichotomy of reason, both present and adrift,

Introverted and reserved, yet outgoing and explorative.

My mind is a sanctuary in and of itself,

The imagery of my thoughts are untamed, unfettered by restraints,

and illegible to all except except its own master and caretaker,

Yet through the chaos, consistent streams of activity arise,

Purposed towards maintaining and expressing rational functionality.

My mind is a sanctuary in and of itself,

In its foremost region lay its defenses,

My shadowed insecurities--the knowledge of my faults-- that stand present guarding,

Impeding social interaction between others,

But past all the superficialities, abodes my spirit,

Of complete openness, and lucid transparency, yearning for interconnection.

My mind is a sanctuary in and of itself,

Containing the concept me,my being--an amorphous collection,

Of electric impulses traveling along a nervous circuitry,

That directs my shell of flesh towards its commands.

My mind is a sanctuary in and of itself,

A temple of isolated shelter, and a parade of advertisement,

My chest of intellectuality--the container of my experiences,

The source of my success and my failure.

My mind is . . . . .me.

All that we are is a result of what we have thought, and all that I am,is the realization of this mantra.
